Dr. Arboleda obtained his Master’s in Public Health from Florida International University followed by medical school at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He completed his pediatric residency training at Miami Children’s Hospital and pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University in 2012. During his fellowship, his research interests included Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in children living in an endemic in Colombia. Additionally, he developed and validated a non-invasive manner to obtain H. pylori from asymptomatic children living in endemic areas for epidemiologic studies. His work was published in the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN) titled “Use of a Non-invasive Test (Entero-test) in the Detection of Helicobacter pylori in Children in an Endemic Area in Colombia. He has also presented various topics at the annual North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) meeting that has included H.pylori infection, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), cholestasis, and eosinophilic esophagitis. His work has been published in various medical journals including the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN) titled “Breast Milk in Better Than Formula Milk in Preventing Parenteral Nutrition–Associated Liver Disease in Infants Receiving Prolonged Parenteral Nutrition” and Frontiers in Pediatrics titled “Case Report: The Association of Wilson Disease in a Patient with Ataxia and GLUT-1 Deficiency”. His special interests include H. pylori, IBD, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, and food allergies. Dr. Arboleda is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric gastroenterology.
